My friends organized a Girls’ Night Out on Saturday, so I thought I’d rock out some red lipstick. I think red lips might be one of those things that women appreciate more than men. In fact, the first time I wore it (right after leaving the MAC store) Brian asked “Did you get your makeup done? Your lips look… more pink than usual…” That first day, I felt really self conscious about it and rubbed it off after B asked about it. This was my 2nd night wearing it, and I was pretty okay with it. Maybe it just gets easier with practice. Thoughts? Scary?
Red lipstick, good decision. Weird photoshoot scenarios, probably not so much.

I always feel very conspicuous when I wear red lipstick. So I wear when I am feeling bold. It does look good on you…pucker up baby!

Pro: Red lipstick makes your teeth look whiter than they actually are!
Con: Red lipstick wears off really obviously.
Red lipstick is a very grown up thing. I also think it looks very european/chic. You can do red lipstick, and like no makeup, and it still looks totally hot, but that stuff is impossible to keep on your lips, and inevitably you end up being bare-faced before 10:00 am (or 10:00 pm).
Lipstick in general is kinda weird. I wore it when I was 15, and haven’t really worn it since. In fact, I just bought a tube of lipstick this fall because I was feeling a little self-conscious about the fact that I didn’t own any!
Anyway, I like the color, it looks good on you.

I got some MAC lip primer stuff, so you put that on first. The guy also said to put a little bit around the outside of your mouth so that it doesn’t bleed/feather out. The primer + liner + lipstick + gloss was a lot of work but it actually worked really well and didn’t wear off right away.
